Dia de los Muertos

dia de los muertos-1001-2

In college, having the day after Halloween off from school was a blessing, although I really had not known of the holy day before starting Marquette. ย All Saints Day or All Souls Day, ย November 1, celebrates those who have passed before us. ย In Mexico, the day is known as Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, celebrating the lives of loved ones who have died with food, drink, music, and prayer. ย Included in the celebration are these sugar skulls, representing the deceased. ย For more on the traditions of la Dia de los Muertos, take a look at this great site, Sugar Skull Art.
